Joshua Anton

Joshua Anton, who is 18 years old, was awarded a new laptop by Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center. Despite some challenges on the homefront, Joshua was able to complete and graduate from high school, and is now attending community college.

Kentrell Herres

Kentrell Herres, who is 15 years old and has a passion for music, was awarded voice lessons so that he could pursue his love of opera. Kentrell was selected for this award by The Coordinating Center.

Cornelius Gaskins

Cornelius Gaskins, who is a 20 year old sophomore attending the University of the District of Columbia, was one of the first awardees to receive the newly created, Vincent C. Gray LEAP Award. Cornelius received a laptop from Health Services for Children with Special Needs, Inc. to assist him in his studies at UDC.

Ciara Clark

Ciara Clark, who is 16 years old, received a commercial popcorn machine and supplies from the Arc of Prince George’s County. This award has encouraged Ciara’s entrepreneurial spirit and provided her with opportunities for social and professional development.
